Israel continually gets away with its brutal, military occupation of Palestine, often by getting the US to intercede for them. A recent event demonstrates this. The release of a 74 page UN report, "Israeli Practices Toward the Palestinian People and the Question of Apartheid" concludes that Israel is guilty of policies that constitute apartheid and, therefore, crimes against humanity. Most of the world understands this. US Ambassor Nikki Haley quickly condemned the report and the UN was forced to remove it, two days after it was released. In this fascinating report, Craig Hanson looks under the covers as to what is going on. In his analysis, Craig references an article by Richard Falk, "Richard Falk: Anger at my Israel 'apartheid' report puts free speech at risk," one of the authors of the well researched report. Curiously, Israel makes no mention that Richard Falk is Jewish. Falk is an international law and international relations scholar who taught at Princeton University for 40 years. In 2008 he was also appointed by the UN to serve a six-year term as the Special Rapporteur on Palestinian human rights. Visiting Palestine and the Holy Land as Pilgrim Not Tourist

Isai Garcia, a seminary student at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary gives a remarkable account of his recent,  eyeopening pilgramage to Palestine and the Holy Land. Sadly, the majority of American Christian who go to Israel, just go as tourists looking at Biblical sites. And, most often, they come away with no idea about the obstacles their Palestinian Christian brothers and sisters in Christ face in a country of military occupation that is rife with discrimination, even towards the arab citizens of Israel. US Continues Extra-Judicial Killing Policy Targets 8 Year Old American Citizen in Yemen

 President Donald Trump has carried on with what President Bush started and President Obama expanded: Extra-Judicial Executions that include American citizens. In the first such action by President Trump, a Navy Seal incursion team in Yemen killed 8 year old, American citizen. Nawar Al-Awlaki in a raid against "terrorists." In a cruel twist of irony, Nawar's older brother, Abdulrahman, was killed in a 2011 drone attack authorized by President Obama just two weeks after his father, Anwar Al-Awlaki, was killed by a drone attack. It is a form of dispensational Christian theology (less than 200 years old) where war figures into its end times theology. Even though this program was originally aired in 2007, it is still accurate and applicable now. The reporter from the Australian Broadcasting Company interviews Christian Zionist. mega church, Pastor John Hagee who founded the pro-Israel lobby, Christians United For Israel (CUFI), the Christian Zionist version of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee). A Jewish rabbi in Hagee's home town of San Antonio, TX, that is interviewed expresses that Hagee's agenda is detrimental to Jews in America and to Israel. Keep Bethlehem Open And Help Palestinian Christians Stay

Victories for the struggle for peace and justice for Palestinians come slowly, but are coming more frequently. We discuss the inspiring documentary Open, Bethlehem by Palestinian filmmaker, Leila Sansour. and her Bethlehem passport project designed to put wings to her film. We also talk about a recent, major victory in Boulder, Colorado where a resolution to make the Palestinian city of Nablus a sister city to Boulder was passed by the city council over strong opposition from vocal, local Zionists. Israel Is Walling Off Bethlehem, The Birth Place of Jesus

Millions of American Christians are unaware of the plight of the city of Bethlehem and its Palestinian inhabitants in the West Bank of Palestine. The Israeli built separation wall snakes its way around Bethlehem, even cutting off Palestinians from their own land and nearby Jerusalem. This story is courageously told by Palestinian filmmaker, Leila Sansour in her Open, Bethlehem documentary that is part of a campaign to educate her fellow Christians and the world about the stranglehold by Israel that is slowly causing Palestinian Christians to leave the Holy Land because of the hardships imposed by the military occupation. To increase the awareness of what is happening to Bethlehem, a Bethlehem Passport is being issued by the OPEN BETHLEHEM campaign in partnership with the Governorate of Bethlehem.  So far, the passport has been granted to more than 500 people around the world, including church leaders and heads of states, such as Archbishop Rowan Williams, Pope Benedict XVI, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and President Jimmy Carter. The passport states: “In that the bearer of this passport is a citizen of Bethlehem; that they recognize this ancient city provides a light to the world, and to all people who uphold the values of a just and open society; that they will remain a true friend to Bethlehem through its imprisonment, and that they will strive to keep the ideals of Bethlehem alive as long as the wall stands; we ask you to respect the bearer of the passport and to let them pass freely.” Showings of Open, Bethlehem are starting in the United States after a successful introduction in the UK. When attending a Christians United For Israel (CUFI) don't expect Jesus to be invited even when held at a venue like the Lakeview Assembly Church in Stockton, CA. ELCA Lutherans Palestinian Peace Not Walls Campaign-Major Breakthrough

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) approved a resolution calling on the U.S. government to end all aid to Israel if Israel does not stop building settlements and “enable an independent Palestinian state." Voting at its triennial assembly in New Orleans that ended recently, the church also sought a halt to all investment in companies that profit from Israel’s occupation and called on the president of the United States to recognize the State of Palestine. The ELCA has joined several other mainline Christian denominations in calling for a just and peaceful resolution to the Israel/Palestine conflict. The War Of Words Against Russia Could Turn Hot

It should be obvious to an honest observer that the United States has a war based economy that needs creditable enemies to keep the war machine well oiled. Sharing Values - The American and Israeli Way

US politicians love to pledge their allegiance to Israel, when given a chance. Sen. Ted Cruz demonstrated this in his address to the 2016 AIPAC convention. "Israel is a democracy that shares our values." The concept of "shared values" should include the American and Israeli governments' treatment of their respective, indigenous populations, Indians and Palestinians. Major Presidential Candidates Except the Bern Pledge Allegiance to AIPAC and Israel

US presidential candidates, without the blessings of AIPAC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee) don't have a prayer of winning in the general elections. Front runners Hilary Clinton, Sen. Ted Cruz and Donald Trump understand this and delivered their "pledges of allegiance to Israel" speeches to the 18,000 delegates assembled at the recently held AIPAC convention in Washington, DC. Sen. Bernie Sanders was the noticeable exception. as he had declined the invitation from AIPAC to speak. Instead, he delivered some critical remarks, while on the campaign trail in Utah, about Israel's destructive policies against the Palestinians.
