Christians Who Love War for Israel

This video was made 14 years ago when We Hold These Truths held a vigil at the Christians United For Israel (CUFI) "Night to Honor Israel" event in Phoenix, AZ. Back then attendees interviewed told us they supported the wars in the Middle East to protect Israel. Nothing has changed since then, Zionised Christians still believe that wars are necessary to protect Israel. After the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas on Israel when they broke out of the world's largest open-air prison the rhetoric has now changed to "We must eradicate the evil Hamas". Of course, there is no concern by Israeli supporters about the now over 19,000 Palestinians that have been killed by Israel's vindictive siege on Gaza. About 70% of the victims are innocent women and children. To prove their continued support for Israel, Cornerstone Church led by John Hagee held on October 22, 2023, a "Night to Honor Israel" event described in the article "A San Antonio Megachurch Plays an Outsized Role in Supporting Israel's War Efforts" in the Texas Monthly.  

Max Blumenthal Gives A Jewish Perspective on Christian Zionism

Max Blumenthal with The Gray Zone has been a long-time supporter of justice for the Palestinians. In Killing Gaza, journalists Dan Cohen and Max Blumenthal documented Israel’s 2014 war on Gaza. This film is a chilling visual document of war crimes committed by the Israeli military, featuring direct testimony and evidence from the survivors. And, now in 2023, the Israeli genocidal, retribution attack on Gaza pales what it did in 2014. In this 6-minute interview, Max talks about the influence of the Christian Zionist lobby led by Christians United For Israel which was formed with the aid of Israel. 

How Hamas Got Israel To Show Its True Colors

The October 7, 2023 attack inside Israel has resulted in an unprecedented and genocidal reaction by Israel that eclipses their four previous assaults on Gaza. Over 7,000 Palestinians have been killed. Almost half were children. This video by Stop World Control was made after the Hamas attack and is quite revealing. It's entitled "The Mystery of Israel - Solved."

People and the Land - Understanding the Israel/Palestine Conflict

The world seems to be backing Israel without question on the recent violence committed against them by Hamas forces that broke out of Gaza (the world's largest open-air prison) and attacked. Sadly, there were civilian casualties on both sides. Such actions are as horrific as were the three previous Israeli, collective punishment "wars" in Gaza that targeted civilians. Violence only begets more violence. Our beltway pundits and the mainstream media have called the attack by Hamas "Unprovoked". This would indicate that Israel has not provoked Palestinians in the past. The documentary People and the Land: The Story of A People Under Occupation was made in 1997 and funded by PBS but was prevented from airing on public TV. This documentary delves into the history of the conflict and is a valuable reminder that the Zionists have been provoking Palestinians for over 75 years.

 

 

A History of We Hold These Truths from 1996

We Hold These Truths was founded by Chuck Carlson in 1996. In this podcast, Tom Compton, one of the founding directors, speaks with Dr. Kevin Barrett, who is a practicing Muslim, on his program, Truth Jihad Radio. Tom discusses WHTT's mission and its history of activism to challenge the idol worship of the modern state of Israel by tens of millions of Christian Zionists.

American Christians, Israel and Zionism

In this video, our founder, Charles E. Carlson speaks about his solo walk-in visit to the Palestinian territory of the Gaza Strip in March 2002. There he witnessed and filmed an Israeli bombing raid from the roof of a building owned by the Southern Baptist Convention. Chuck gave this account to members of the Institute for Historical Review two years later. The video account of this bombing raid can be seen in our documentary, “The Roots of Christian Zionism: How Scofield Sowed Seeds of Apostasy”. In the second segment of this 50-minute talk, he explains Zionist Christian's distortion of the bible and why its followers support Israel despite its documented brutality toward the Palestinians. His talk marked the beginning of We Hold These Truths' nineteen-year study of and challenge to the biblical corruption that has fostered Israel's unbroken history of killings. Christian Zionism" The Tragedy & The Turning, Part I

We Hold These Truths has been working for peace in the Holy Land since 2002. This documentary was made to challenge Christians who believe that the modern state of Israel is a fulfillment of biblical prophecy even to the exclusion of Palestinian Christians living there. Our 29-minute documentary was recognized as a contribution to peace by being given a special award at the 4th Ammar Popular Film Festival in Tehran, Iran,  in January 2014.  This film exposes what should be three, obvious truths:  1. The US has a war based economy that is dependent upon the support for its many wars by Christians under the influence of Christian Zionism.  2. Christian Zionism is a corruption of traditional Christianity that has been promoted for just over 100 years, through the Scofield Reference Bible. 3. The Palestinians have been under a brutal military occupation by Israel since 1967.  An example of this brutality was an Israeli attack on Gaza that killed four and wounded 40 in 2002, which was witnessed, videoed, and reported by Charles E. Carlson, the Writer/Director of this documentary.  This attack was four years before Hamas came to power and the 3 devastating wars on Gaza in 2008/2009, 2012, and 2014  The last major assault on Gaza in 2014, “Operation Protective Edge” resulted in over 2,000 Palestinians killed of whom were 500 children. This planned operation has turned into a genocidal assault on Gaza with the Israelis bombing hospitals and schools, and civilian casualties hovering around 75% of the total while destroying the infrastructure of the world’s largest, open-air prison (Bob Simon of CBS News described Gaza this way in 2009 in an interview with Charlie Rose). Today, Gaza is on the brink of being uninhabitable.

Support for Palestine Coming From Unusual Sources

Chuck Carlson and Craig Hanson discuss the implications of a video by Vox, "How a Bible prophecy shapes Trump’s foreign policy," that has had over a million views. It exposes the impact of Christian Zionists on US policies with Israel and Palestine. Also, the Telos Group, a supporter of Palestinian rights is discussed in light of the funding for it by George Soros, who says he is not a Zionist.

Sherry's Holy War for Israel

The founding of Israel in 1948 has become a major, theological focal point for millions of American evangelical Christians. In 2001 We Hold These Truths founder, Chuck Carlson, had an ongoing dialog with a “Judaeo-Christian” (who would now be called a “Christian Zionist”) named Sherry that resulted in a six-part series that can be read at “Sherry’s War: A Second Look“. Chuck and Craig Hanson discuss what made Sherry believe that the modern state of Israel is a fulfillment of biblical prophecy and think the way she did. Exposing National Bible Studies With A Christian Zionist Bent

American evangelical Christians have been conditioned to accept the modern state of Israel as being a fulfillment of biblical prophecy through national Bible studies like Precepts Ministries, founded by Kay Arthur. In this 30-minute video program Chuck Carlson, Craig Hanson and Tom Compton of We Hold These Truths discuss Chuck's groundbreaking article, "Zionism promoted through Bible studies at a church near you." While the theology of Christian Zionism in these studies is usually subtle, the extreme Zionist sentiment as exhibited in two included video clips featuring Kay Arthur should be intuitively obvious to any honest observer. In this program, Craig Hanson scripturally challenges some of the sacred theology held dear by Christian Zionists.

Why Evangelical Christians Support US Crimes of Aggression

Pastor Chuck Baldwin is joined by We Hold These Truths' Chuck Carlson and Craig Hanson, discussing his recent article, "Trump's Unholy War." Baldwin asserts there is an economic and political agenda behind the present push for what he calls a "Crime of Aggression" upon the Iranian people. Sherry's War: Modern Day Idolatry

Chuck Carlson, founder of We Hold Truths wrote a series of six groundbreaking articles in 2001 about a self-professing, Christian named Sherry, with whom he had dialogued. In this series, Chuck Carlson revealed how Sherry’s acceptance of war is a foundational portion of her religion. At the time, the term “Christian Zionist” had not come into use. It now more accurately describes the theology of Christians like Sherry. With all the support from American evangelical Christians for America's serial wars, a stranger unaware of the teachings of Jesus might conclude that Christianity is primarily a religion of war and not of peace. That the United States has a war based economy should be universally self evident but is not. Think of war at the apex of a three-sided pyramid. The first side is the powerful military/industrial complex that manufactures the war material and fights the wars. Christian Zionist Summit: A Narrative of Lies

 

Craig Hanson and members of We Hold These Truths dissect the events and speakers at the recently held Christians United For Israel 14th annual summit in Washington, DC. In reality, it was a political rally for Israel and a call for war on Iran. Once again, Jesus was ignored, for the most part, during the proceedings. A cavalcade of Christian Zionist politicians, including VP Mike Pence and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, spoke to some 5,000 attendees at the summit. Countering The "Christian Zionists/Political Complex"

Christians United For Israel, during their 14th annual summit on July 7-8, 2019, were challenged by the campaign, "Rise Against Racism: Counter CUFI." The campaign was sponsored by Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA) and joined by Jewish Voice For Peace, American Muslims for Palestine, US Campaign for Palestinian Rights. It was endorsed by more than 30 organizations. We Hold These Truths challenged CUFI at its second annual summit in 2007 and endorsed FOSNA's current campaign. CUFI's leader, John Hagee, boasts of being a Christian Zionist and revealed his political version of Christianity at the CUFI summit by inviting prominent Christian Zionist politicians that included VP Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and National Security Advisor John Bolton. In this on the ground report by Mark Bebawi on Arab Voices Radio, Tarek Abuata, executive director of FOSNA and other campaign members are interviewed along with comments by two CUFI attendees. This is a remarkable 50-minute program that exposes the "Christian Zionist/Political Complex."

Christian Opposition To Christian Zionist Theology Is Growing

Tarek Abuata is Executive Director of Friends of Sabeel North America (FOSNA), a nonprofit, predominantly Christian organization that gives its objective as seeking justice and peace in the Holy Land. Tarek Abuata was born into a Palestinian Christian family in Bethlehem, and moved to Texas when he was 12. FOSNA's parent organization is Sabeel, an international peace movement initiated by Palestinian Christians.

Mainline Christians are Discovering the Dangers of Christian Zionism

When We Hold These Truths started challenging Israel supporting churches in 2002, the term "Christian Zionism" was not in use. Today, there are more groups like FOSNA (Friends Of Sabeel North America), TruNews and a growing number of mainline Christians that are challenging Christian Zionism. Christian Zionists Snap at the Heels of A Man From Galilee: Archbishop Elias Chacour

An Israeli, Arab, Christian  priest and educator got mixed responses at local area churches: warmth and respect from Presbyterians, and a mixture of love and ice water at an Israelist church (this is clear from the questions at the end of this compelling presentation by Archbishop Chacour at this church). Archbishop Elias Chacour is a rotund 69 year old dynamo. As a child of eight he was made homeless by the Israeli army, but against all odds, he and his family stayed in Israel long after most of his villagers became forced refugees elsewhere.  He went on to become one of the most important educators of Arab children, and a Christian citizen of Israel. There, he built schools that teach over 3000, Christian & Muslim children in Galilee, northern Israel.  At the time of the talk, he had just been appointed Archbishop over several Melkite Catholic Churches that are sanctioned by Israel within its territory.  Archbishop Chacour is author of Blood Brothers (Arabs and Israelis) and is a proven advocate of peace, preaching love of all races as his “only weapon.”

Educating Evangelicals About Christian Zionism at the Altar Conference

We Hold These Truths has been challenging Christians about the dangers of Christian Zionism since 2002. Our latest effort took place in Fresno, CA at the Altar Conference: Where Heaven Meets Earth," that describes it as "a weekend of dynamic worship and powerful teaching, provoking believers of all backgrounds into a lifestyle of radical pursuit and relentless devotion to Christ." We think that's a great idea. Normally, WHTT vigils are held in front of Christian Zionist churches or events held by Christian Zionist organizations, like Christians United For Israel. Thousands of Christians attended the event and were greeted at three entrance points by members of the WHTT team led by David Jacobs and Craig Hanson. Because the "Free Speech" areas were very close to the lines for the security check points at the entrances, everyone got to see one or more of our signs. In this revealing, 23 minute, podcast, Craig and Dave reflect on some very interesting encounters they had with conference attendees. Many people were clueless about what Zionism is. Christian Zionists and the Christchurch Massacre

American Christian Zionists have wholeheartedly supported the war on Islam to protect Israel and harbor a fear and loathing of Muslims and Islam. Christian Zionist preacher, John Hagee confirmed this notion when he prayed, before the 2003 war on Iraq, for the US to go to war to protect Israel (see, "John Hagee with Benny Hinn: Praying for Israel in the Name of Jesus").  In this lively, 16 minute podcast, that you won't find on the MSM, Chuck Carlson and Craig Hanson of We Hold These Truths discuss Chuck's article, "Christchurch Massacre: Devout Christians and Israeli Zionists are Responsible."

Countering Christian Zionists Dual Allegiance

Millions of American, evangelical Christians don't even realize that they have been conditioned to believe that the modern state of Israel is the fulfillment of biblical prophecy and that they must have a dual allegiance to both the US and Israel to be right with God. We Hold These Truths has been dispelling this myth for the past 17 years. We've conducted about 200 vigils in front of Christian Zionist churches and events. Our California Central Valley Outreach Director, David Jacob and his team found this concept of dual allegiance to be true at a recent vigil they conducted in Fresno at a new venue, a Christian rock concert with singer Michael W. Smith as the headliner. Attendees were greeted by the WHTT team, who engaged them with signs, dialog and a handout, "Does the Bible Require Folowers of Jesus to Support the Jewish State of Israel." Ask Your Pastor: Why Israel?

We Hold These Truths has been challenging Christian Zionist Churches since 2002 by holding vigils urging fellow Christians to advocate for peace and justice in the Middle East. Our West Coast Outreach Director, Craig Hanson, recently asked a pastor hosting a CUFI (Christians United For Israel) "Why Israel?" event in California, why should Christians support Israel. Religious Bigotry Revealed at Israel Honoring Church Event

It's very rare for We Hold These Truths to get media attention at one of their vigils in front of "zionized" churches. Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada, CO held their 40th "Night to Honor Israel" recently, but WHTT was not conducting a vigil as we have done at least three times in the past. Thanks to a local reporter who did his homework, WHTT founder Chuck Carlson was quoted in the article, "Honoring Israel: When a local church takes on an international issue." Christian Wahhabists Go On The War Path For Israel

When several prominent, self proclaimed Christian Zionists went to Saudi Arabia and had an audience with the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman ("Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Hosts Rare Meeting With American Evangelical Christians"), Chuck Carlson of WHTT thinks "Christian Wahhabists" would be a more appropriate moniker. Challenging American Christians at Christ At The Checkpoint-USA

Sadly, American, evangelical Christians mostly get one side of the Israeli/Palestine conflict narrative. And, that is the "zionised" Christian version that claims that modern Israel is the fulfillment of biblical prophecy, and, that only modern Jews have a right to live in Israel. Christ At The Checkpoint-USA held their first conference in the US in Oklahoma City to tell the Palestinian Christian side of the story. Palestinian Christians are the "living stones," of the Holy Land, and, for the most part, are ignored by American Christian pilgrims visiting the "dead stone" sites in the Holy Land. We Hold These Truths had a booth at the conference and came away very encouraged by the gathering. The Southern Baptists Love Affair with Modern Israel

The Southern Baptist Convention's leadership loves to defend Israel, using mostly political arguments or corrupted biblical theology. Since our first vigil in Nov. 2002, We Hold These Truths has been challenging Southern Baptists and their leaders. (see: "WHTT Asks Southern Baptist Convention Messengers To Choose Life Not War") In this 33 minute podcast, Chuck Carlson and members of WHTT discuss biblical responses to the Southern Baptists surrounding their recent support for the move of the American embassy, in Israel, to Jerusalem. Our team in Fresno challenged the California Southern Baptist Convention at their state headquarters in Fresno with some interesting results, both encouraging and and troubling. Why American evangelicals are a huge base of support for Israel

"Evangelical Christians make up the biggest pro-Israel bloc in the US. Support for Israel is stronger among American evangelicals than it is even among American Jews. According to a poll conducted by the Pew Research Center, 82 percent of white evangelicals think God gave Israel to the Jewish people. Less than half as many Jewish Americans or Catholic Americans agree." A group in Fresno has taken the WHTT message to Clovis Hills Community Church (CHCC) near Fresno, CA. In this 12 minute podcast, David Jacobs and his crew reveal the success of their vigil. CHCC is a Southern Baptist Convention church, but doesn't advertise it as such. Palestinian Christians Challenge VP Pence's Christian Zionist Pro-Israel Faith

An Associated Press article published in Fox News declares, "Palestinian Christians slam Pence's pro-Israel faith" and reveals an accurate assesment of Christian Zionism not normally found in America's Main Stream Media (MSM): "Palestinian Christians say U.S. Vice President Mike Pence’s brand of evangelical Christianity, with its fervent embrace of modern-day Israel as fulfillment of biblical prophecy, lacks their faith’s compassion and justice, including for those who have endured half a century of Israeli occupation…." Palestinian Christian, Rev. Alex Awad reveals the effects of Christian Zionist theological beliefs on Palestinian Christians, in this insightful presentation made at a "Christ At The Checkpoint" seminar held in Bethlehem, Palestine. Millions of American Christians have been deceived by a theology that says that God gave the modern state of Israel, exclusively, to today's Jews and that the indigenous Palestinians living there, have no right to be there. Exposing AIPAC & John Hagee's CUFI As Unregistered Agents For Israel

Craig Hanson, We Hold These Truths' California Outreach Director, reports on the recent 2017 Christians United For Israel (CUFI) annual conference held in Washington, DC. Craig reveals in his analysis what should be obvious: AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) and CUFI should fall under the US government's Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). "FARA is a disclosure statute that requires persons acting as agents of foreign principals in a political or quasi-political capacity to make periodic public disclosure of their relationship with the foreign principal, as well as activities, receipts and disbursements in support of those activities.  Disclosure of the required information facilitates evaluation by the government and the American people of the statements and activities of such persons in light of their function as foreign agents." At Arizona Mosque Christ Follower Explains Christian Zionism

We Hold These Truths representatives have been invited to speak at numerous mosques about our Christian ministry that challenges Christian Zionism, a form of Neo-Christianity that is less than 150 years old. Christian Zionists hold fast to the belief that the modern state of Israel is a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. In 2012, Tom Compton of We Hold These Truths was invited to make a presentation at the Al-Mahdi Islamic Center in Tempe, Arizona for their International Day of Al Quds (Jerusalem) program. An audio recording was made of the PowerPoint presentation. In this video version, the original audio recording was used using additional photos and videos to bring the challenges being made to Christian Zionism, up to date. WHTT Asks Southern Baptist Convention Messengers To Choose Life Not War

Members of the vigil team from We Hold These Truths greeted messengers to the 2017 annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), held in Phoenix, Arizona. The vigilers were armed only with signs like "Choose Life, Not War," "Blessed Are The Peacemakers," "Where Are The Peacemakers?" and "No More Wars For Israel," and two fliers: "Choose Life Not War" and "Does The Bible Require Followers of Jesus to Support the Jewish State of Israel?" After over 200 vigils around the country, in terms of people engaged and fliers distributed, this vigil turned out to be one of our most effective ones, since we started them in Nov. 2002 at the First Southern Baptist Church of Scottsdale [AZ]. Challenging A War Willing Church

Why is it that the teachings of Jesus, like "Love your neighbor as you love yourself" and "Blessed Are the Peacemakers," take a back seat to millions of Christians that are influenced by the religious dogma known as Christian Zionism?
