Challenging A War Willing Church

Why is it that the teachings of Jesus, like "Love your neighbor as you love yourself" and "Blessed Are the Peacemakers," take a back seat to millions of Christians that are influenced by the religious dogma known as Christian Zionism? In this short video, We Hold These Truths returns to Calvary Community Church (CCC) in Phoenix, AZ. One of our first vigils was held in front of this church in November of 2002, four months before the second war on Iraq started. Back in 2002, our signs like "Choose Life Not War," "Who Would Jesus Bomb?" "Blessed Are The Peacemakers," and "No More Wars For Israel" must have befuddled the congregants at CCC, because they came out and raised the Israeli flag. The occasion for this most recent vigil at CCC was the hosting of a "God's Heart For Israel" event sponsored by the organization Together For Israel. Christian Zionism Is A War Based Religion

Christian Zionism is a war based, political religion wrapped around the notion that the modern state of Israel is a fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. It is a form of dispensational Christian theology (less than 200 years old) where war figures into its end times theology. In this podcast, Chuck Carlson, Tom Compton and Craig Hanson delve into various aspects of this war based religion including numerous, prominent evangelical Christian leaders like Henry Blackaby, Chuck Colson (deceased), Bill Bright (deceased) of Campus Crusade, D. James Kennedy (decesead), Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Conference, Ted Haggard, John McArthur, Dr. Wayne Grudem (author of "Politics According to the Bible") and John Hagee who have blessed the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, both before and after the wars started. They've gone so far as to say these wars are "just wars" according to their interpretation of the Bible. WHTT's Chuck Carlson warned his fellow Baptists in 1990 about not going to war against Iraq ("Iraq: Americans Prepped For 'War'." Christian Zionists Practice Israel Worship

This excellent and balanced news report from Australia exposes the war based religion that is known as Christian Zionism. Even though this program was originally aired in 2007, it is still accurate and applicable now. The reporter from the Australian Broadcasting Company interviews Christian Zionist. mega church, Pastor John Hagee who founded the pro-Israel lobby, Christians United For Israel (CUFI), the Christian Zionist version of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee). A Jewish rabbi in Hagee's home town of San Antonio, TX, that is interviewed expresses that Hagee's agenda is detrimental to Jews in America and to Israel. Also interviewed is the Palestinian Ambassor. who is a Christian, and who says that Hagee's brand of Christianity is an embarassment to Palestinian Christians. (17 mins.)

Palestinian Pastor Confronts His Fellow Southern Baptist Church Leaders

Jamal Bishara, a Palestinian Christian and Sputhern Baptist pastor spoke out against a "Pray for Israel" (but not for Palestinians) resolution passed at the annual Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) meeting in St. Louis. Dispensational and outright, Christian Zionist theology is widely held among prominent, Southern Baptists leaders and pastors, like Richard Land, Adrian Rogers and Charles Stanley. Pastor Jamal reveals in this inspirational podcast that he remains a Southern Baptist so that he can be "Salt and Light" to other SBC pastors by challenging the pro-Israel theological bent prevalent in the SBC. Will Southern Baptists Become Peacemakers?

Five months before the war against Iraq in 2003 started, Richard Land of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) declared that a war against Iraq would be a "just war" according to his and other evangelical leaders' interpretation of the Bible. Fast forward to 2016 and it still appears that Southern Baptists have a way to go before they can be called peacemakers. However, there are some encouraging signs from some peacemakers within the SBC who asking to be heard. Listen and find out what's going on. (23 mins.)

Evangelical Christian Leaders Challenge Christian Zionist Theology About Israel

Over 100 evangelical, Christian. Presbyterian theologians, including the highly respected, Dr. RC Sproul, were signatories to "An Open Letter to Evangelicals and Other Interested Parties: The People of God, the Land of Israel, and the Impartiality of the Gospel." They asserted that: "At the heart of the political commitments in question are two fatally flawed propositions. First, some are teaching that God's alleged favor toward Israel today is based upon ethnic descent rather than upon the grace of Christ alone, as proclaimed in the Gospel. Second, others are teaching that the Bible's promises concerning the land are fulfilled in a special political region or "Holy Land," perpetually set apart by God for one ethnic group alone. As a result of these false claims, large segments of the evangelical community, our fellow citizens, and our government are being misled with regard to the Bible's teachings regarding the people of God, the land of Israel, and the impartiality of the Gospel." If you're looking for a well reasoned, biblicsl response to pre-millenial dispensationalism (sometimes known as Christian Zionism or Neo-Christianity). this letter is worth studying.

 

 

 

Jesus Left Behind at Christian Zionist Bash

When attending a Christians United For Israel (CUFI) don't expect Jesus to be invited even when held at a venue like the Lakeview Assembly Church in Stockton, CA. We Hold These Truths' CA Outreach Director, Craig Hanson, conducted a one man vigil recently at a CUFI "Night to Honor Israel" event held at Lakeview. Then, Craig went into the lion's den claiming to be a Christian to find out that Jesus was left behind and not mentioned. Craig's report is most interesting and informative. Vigil To Punch A Hole In The Israeli Separation-Apartheid Wall

Dr. Dan Tirza was appointed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be the Chief Architect of the Israeli "Security Barrier" (more accurately known by honest observers as the "Separation/Apartheid Wall").
