It should be no secret to informed and honest Americans, that the US wars just don't happen.  They take planning.  Retired General John Wesley Clark learned shortly after 911 that wars against seven Muslim countries were planned.  In 2007, then retired Gen. Clark confirmed this publicly (see here and here). We Hold These Truths helped expose the lucrative, Sudanese "slave" redemption, fund raising efforts conducted by evangelical Christian churches in the late 1990's and early 2000's (WHTT groundbreaking articles on Sudan: here).

Sami is well qualified to talk about this command since his family lost their home in 1948 when Israel was founded, and his grandfather, a noncombatant, was killed by Jewish forces.  Palestinians, whether Christians or Muslims, continue to suffer under a brutal Israeli military occupation today. Sadly, most American Christians only know and believe the Israeli side of the story. Wouldn't it be a miracle if Christian Zionists would open their eyes to the suffering and hardship endured by their Palestinian brothers and sisters in Christ and show compassion for both sides equally? Sami Awad is the founder of the Holy Land Trust, a peacemaking organization based in Bethlehem. In this 13 min. podcast, Chuck Carlson analyzes and compares two articles, "Now the truth emerges: How the US fuelled the rise of ISIS in Syria and Iraq" by Seumas Milne and "America's Allies Are Funding ISIS" by Josh Rogin to reveal something very interesting. There's so much disinformation about what's going on in the Middle East, it's difficult to tell what the truth is.  There's no question that the perpetual meddling by the US in the Middle East and the 25 years of wars against Iraq were bound to create some enemies and "blow-back."

We took the occasion of Bernando LaPallo's 114th birthday celebration to plant some seeds about the Israel/Palestine issue.  Our gift to Bernando was the inspiring documentary, "Al Helm:  Martin Luther King in Palestine."  In this 7 1/2 minute video about our presentation to Bernando, we included at the end, the 2 1/2 minute "Al Helm..." trailer (a crash course on the conflict).  "Al Helm: Martin Luther King in Palestine" is about a black American, Christian choir that accompanies a Palestinian theater troupe in a play about Dr. Martin Luther King in which Dr. King is played by a Palestinian.  The play was performed in several cities in the West Bank of Palestine.  None of the choir members had been to Israel before.  Their firsthand experiences in Palestine opened their eyes to the brutal nature of the Israeli occupation that Palestinians live under.   

In this 22 minute podcast, We Hold These Truths' California Outreach Director, Craig Hanson, talks about a successful and eyeopening, one man vigil at a Christian Zionist event honoring Israel, that was hosted by the Israel Fellowship and held at the South Bay Agape Christian Church (a Chinese fellowship) in San Jose, CA).  The organizers invited Christians United For Israel (CUFI) to do one of their "Standing With Israel" events, but with a twist, it was conducted in Mandarin Chinese.  A pastor from the church came out to speak with Craig.  He said that the church leaders were told by the organizers not to talk about Jesus at the event.  This confirms our suspicions that Jesus takes a back seat, or, no seat at all, at Christian Zionist events designed to worship Israel.  Be sure to listen to get the rest of Craig's fascinating report.  To learn more on why Christian Zionist believe what they do, watch our award winning film, Christian Zionism:  The Tragedy & The Turning.

Melchizedek, king of Salem, and his relation to Abraham is discussed in this lesson by Mark Horton.  We learn why Melchizedek received a tithe from Abraham even though his genealogy was not derived from the line of priests, the sons of Levi.  And, we learn the significance of it.

In this 15 minute program, we discuss former President Jimmy Carter's recent pronouncement, after another trip to the Holy Land, that there is almost zero chance of Israel granting a state to the Palestinians.  In fact, the Zionists never really intended for any Palestinians to be living in Israel. The 1919 "King-Crane Report" to President Woodrow Wilson. as mentioned in our program, reported the dangers of the Zionist plan:  "We recommend, in the fifth place, serious modification of the extreme Zionist program for Palestine of unlimited immigration of Jews, looking finally to making Palestine distinctly a Jewish State...and that the project for making Palestine distinctly a Jewish commonwealth should be give up." In Israel, it's no secret that there are over 50 laws that discriminate against their Arab (Palestinian) citizens, and, that Palestinians living in the West Bank and Gaza are subject to military occupation laws.  This is an Israel Social TV production in Hebrew with English subtitles that provides an excellent example of how the Israeli legal system really works, in less than five minutes. After destroying Palestinian orchards, the Jerusalem municipal authority says that gardens are to be planted where the orchards were, in preparation for a National Park.

The writer of Hebrews compares the old age to the new age that is coming with the destruction of Jerusalem resulting in a transfer from a physical Israel to a spiritual Israel.  Abraham is the patriarch and Jesus is the physical and spiritual offspring.

In this eye-opening, two minute video from UK's Channel 4 News, the on the ground comparison from after the Israeli 51 day attack on Gaza ending in August, 2014 and June, 2015, shows how very little of the damage has been repaired.  A Channel 4 story, "Destruction in Gaza - a year after massive conflict" quotes Stephanie Dujarric, a UN secretary-general spokesman, "315 days after the conflict took place, not a single totally destroyed house, of which there are over 12,000 [over 100,000 houses were damaged], has been rebuilt...This leaves some 120,000 people homeless, coming in addition to the high level of youth unemployment and lack of prospect for Gaza's youth.  This situation leaves a time bomb for the region, said the commissioner general." End the Israeli Siege on Gaza, Now!

"First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you and then you win."  Can this quote from Mahatma Gandhi be applied to Israel?  Our guest, Paul Larudee, a peace activist who has tirelessly worked for peace and justice in the Holy Land, discusses this concept in our podcast.  Paul has been active in several groups including the Free Palestine Movement.  We look at the recent Freedom Flotilla III to Gaza where the lead ship (Marianne of Gothenburg Sweden) was captured by Israel, in international waters, while attempting to break the naval blockade of Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid.  Paul discusses the other movements (BDS, blocking Israeli ships, the pro-Palestinian activism on college campuses, etc.) that are challenging Israel on multiple fronts. About 80% of evangelicals believe that the nation of Israel is still God’s chosen land. You won't ever see a compelling, 11 minute report like this one from the UK by theguardian.com, in America's mainstream media.  Cell 36 in Al Jalame prison, northern Israel, is one of a handful of cells where Palestinian children are locked in solitary confinement for days or even weeks.  Even the British government has raised concerns about Israel's treatment of Palestinian minors arrested and interrogated for stone-throwing and other crimes. We Hold These Truths' intrepid, Bay Area vigil leader, Craig Hanson, conducted a "Vigil of One" at a Christians United For Israel "Four Blood Moons" event, held at a Stockton, CA church, with amazing results. Most of the hundreds of people in attendance knew he was there with his signs prominently on display as they drove in to the church parking lot. He even generated a counter protest, and, remarkably, one of the church pastors came out twice to dialogue with Craig to sincerely find out why Craig was there and what our mission is. In this podcast you'll learn about the hoopla behind the not-so-biblical "Four Blood Moons" idea that, supposedly, points to an imminent end times event. Steve Haas is the VP/Chief Catalyst for the billion dollar Christian aid agency, World Vision that has aided Christians in Israel and Palestine for over 30 years.  Haas was challenged by Zionists and Christian Zionists over what he said at an address  made at a theological seminary (an article about his speech can be found here, and the complete speech here, and two of the Zionist attacks here and here).  He said that many evangelicals, for more than 60 years, had "clung to a very narrow theological narrative that weds Christian theology with a political ideology known as Zionism..."and, many of our brother Christ followers have allowed themselves to be squeezed into the roll of advocacy for Israel, and for war itself, by Christian Zionist errant scriptural teaching."  In this podcast, we also talk about the Zionist attack to silence Anglican priest and Christian Zionist expert, Rev. Stephen Sizer who conducted a moving interview with Steve Haas in Jerusalem.

In order to promote the war agenda, US Warmakers, including the President and the Republican leadership are telling perfidious lies of a proportion not seen before.  Two of many such lies and acts are discussed in our podcast.  These are journalist Seymour Hersh's amazing exposure about the killing of Osama Bin Laden.  And, the recent waves of executions by the new, overtly Zionist, Egyptian government that include a death death sentence for the former, democratically elected President of Egypt, Mohammed Marci and literally hundreds of Marci's staff while Egypt continues its economic and humanitarian blockade of Gaza. all while the US continues military aid to Egypt.

Christians United For Israel, headed by John Hagee, now has a Diversity Outreach Ministry Coordinator to reach out to black and Hispanic churches to drum up more support for Israel.  In this podcast we report on a We Hold These Truths' vigil held at a CUFI event conducted at a small black church near Phoenix, AZ.  Included in our report is a very interesting, short conversation with the pastor who revealed his Christian Zionist leanings.  For background on this vigil, listen to our podcast, "Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Decried the War in Vietnam, Christian Zionists Pray For War."  There were three of us conducting the vigil while there were less than 25 in attendance (our percentage of vigilers to the number of CUFI attendees increased dramatically over previous CUFI events where we conducted vigils).  Perhaps, blacks and Hispanics recognize that the Palestinians are the underdogs in the conflict, and, not the Israeli Jews.  We gave the pastor a copy of the inspiring documentary, "Al Helm: Martin Luther King in Palestine" and asked him to watch it.  Overcoming religious dogma about the modern state of Israel is a very difficult thing to do for the tens of millions of American Christians held in the grip of Christian Zionist ideology.

In 1967 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke out vehemently against the Vietnam war and said that the US government was "the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today." (And, we add, it still is, today!)  On the other hand, the self-anointed leader of Christian Zionism, John Hagee, has publicly prayed for war on Iraq and called for war against Iran.  In this podcast we talk about an upcoming vigil at a Christians United For Israel (CUFI) event being hosted at a predominantly black church with a black pastor.  The church's Facebook page had posted an event honoring Dr. King, who has been recognized and honored as a genuine peacemaker.  Why would they turn their backs to the legacy of Dr. King for a "Night To Honor Israel?"  That got us to thinking that the religious dogma of Christian Zionists must run deeper than Jesus' call to his followers:  "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the sons of God."  Don't miss this unique podcast and our follow-up podcast after the vigil.

   

Weekly, non-violent protests have been conducted in the Palestinian village of Bil'in since 2005.  The village is being threatened by encroaching, illegal, Israeli settlements.  These peaceful demonstrations have been met with extreme deadly force by the Israeli Defense Force.  The documentary, 5 Broken Cameras (nominated for an Academy Award For Best Documentary) documents the killing of Bassem Abu Rahma, one of the demonstrators in 2009.  The picture, at left, is from a April 18, 2015 demonstration where two persons were injured, and scores suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation after Israeli soldiers attacked the weekly nonviolent protest against the Wall and Settlements, in Bil’in village near Ramallah. The protest also marked the Palestinian Prisoners Day, and commemorated the death of Bassem Abu Rahma.  In this podcast, Craig Hanson talks about an encouraging event he attended featuring 5 Broken Cameras filmmaker's brother, Iyad Burnat, who was, also, shot by the IDF in a 2013 demonstration.   Craig's report is one small ray of hope to counter the constant propaganda barrage against Palestinians here in the US by our government, major media and the Israeli lobby.

Mark Horton starts our study of the book of Hebrews with detailed background information on the book.  It appears that the book was not written by the Apostle Paul buy the author was influenced by him.  Mark contends that the author of Hebrews would find that modern day dispensationalists' beliefs that the end times would require a return to the physical forms and rituals of the ancient Israelites, to be an abomination.  The book of Hebrews demonstrates that the old covenant was inferior to the superior spiritual reality that appeared in Jesus Christ.  Jesus is greater! 

The most dangerous man-made bubble of all time may be the 30-year-old bull market in US Treasury bonds, aka as USDebt.  USDebt has been purposely manipulated by the Federal Reserve System, a private banking cartel, upwards to become a crap game on Wall Street.  According to Chuck Carlson, USDebt has become a yawning, sink hole for American investors, who own it, but who do not know it exists.  Caveat emptor!
