Palestinian Christian Daoud Nassar just completed a very successful speaking tour in Arizona. Daoud's compelling testimony explains his family's non-violent actions to save their 100 year old farm that is surrounded by five, illegal, Israeli settlements in the West Bank of Palestine and subject to the injustices of a brutal military occupation. Daoud's project is called Tent of Nations, and is truly unique in peacemaking efforts as it follows what Jesus taught, "Blessed are the peacemakers for the shall be called sons of God" (Matthew 5:7). Please take time to watch this inspiring, 8 minute video by Urban Tribes that gives an excellent overview of what Tent of Nations is all about and explains their principles and objectives that include: 1. We refuse to be victims. 2. We refuse to hate 3. We live with our faith. 4. We believe in justice. The Tent of Nation's motto is "We Refuse To Be Enemies." (Photo: In one of his presentations in Arizona, Daoud Nassar points to the Tent of Nations on a map that shows how it is surrounded by Israeli settlements [in blue]. The Israeli separation wall goes deep into Palestinian territory and will eventually cut off the Tent of Nations and other Palestinian land from the nearby Palestinian city of Bethlehem.) Daoud's tour in Arizona was sponsored by Friends of Tent of Nations, North America: http://fotonna.org/
Palestinian Christian, Rev. Alex Awad reveals the effects of Christian Zionist theological beliefs on Palestinian Christians, in this insightful presentation made at a "Christ At The Checkpoint" seminar held in Bethlehem, Palestine. Millions of American Christians have been deceived by a theology that says that God gave the modern state of Israel, exclusively, to today's Jews and that the indigenous Palestinians living there, have no right to be there. Traditional Christianity rejects this notion. Please watch this 1 hr. 16 minute video presentation and, then, have one of your Christian Zionist friends watch it. Who knows, maybe they will come to realize that God is not a respector of persons and welcomes one and all into His kingdom. A written summary of Rev.. Awad's presentation is available here.
Palestinians have developed a number of creative, non-violent ways to challenge the brutal Israeli military occupation of Palestine. One of the more widely known forms of non-violent resistance is the BDS (Boycotts, Divestment & Sanctions) movement that was started in 2005 by about 150 Palestinian civil groups and joined by activists all around the world. When we spent a month in Palestine, based in Bethlehem, this past summer with the Holy Land Trust, one very innovative form of non-violent resistance came to our attention. We met Dr. Mazin & Jessie Qumsiyeh, who founded the Palestine Institute of Biodiversity and Sustainability and the Palestine Museum of Natural History that is associated with Bethlehem University. This 14 minute video is a talk by Dr. Qumsiyeh, given at the meeting of the Arab States Research and Education Network (ASREN) on Dec. 4, 2017. The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo. Professor Qumsiyeh’s paper dealt with challenges and opportunities for sustainable development in the 21st century with globalized systems. He highlighted the example of the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability at Bethlehem University in areas of research, education, and environmental conservation. As the only Palestinian speaker at this conference, Prof. Qumsiyeh took the opportunity to also highlight the issues of Israeli colonial policies that effect sustainability in Palestine.
Rallies all over the United States and around the world are taking place to object to the announcement by President Donald Trump that the US embassy in Israel would be moved to Jerusalem. The Palestinians and the international community have considered East Jerusalem to be the capital of Palestine. The move by Trump, should be of no surprise to any sincere observer because the United States has never been an honest peace broker to the Israel/Palestine conflict. Members of We Hold These Truths joined with over 100 Palestinian supporters in Tempe, Arizona to protest the action by President Trump. This is video is a two minute overview of the rally.
What's going on with the rise of interest in, and the increase in value of, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies? This recent, 26 minute documentary by PressTV does a great job of explaining what crptocureencies, like Bitcoin, are, and the push back by the banking estabishment against them. In his recent article, "Millenials Mistrust Financial Institutions; Invented Bitcoin" Chuck Carlson of We Hold These Truths noted that: "The reason we have not heard our own mega-government hold forth with a lethal threat to Bitcoin and the others, is that mega-gov has not figured out what it can say that will not increase interest. If any big government knew a way to monitor or control Cryptocurrencies, I am inclined to think we would have heard about it long before now, and you can bet your socks they are trying. Governments are and will be desperate to control the Cryptocurrencies’ phenomena; they have no choice. This absence of threat from them is positive for Bitcoin investors."
Rich Siegel is a very talented pianist and singer who journeyed from being an ardent Zionist, who even lived in Israel. Rich delved into the Zionist beliefs he held so dear and found that the "facts" he had learned were wanting. After a thorough investigation into the Israel/Palestine conflict, he became an activist for peace and justice for Palestians. In this remarkable, 12 minute video, Rich performs his haunting composition, "In Palestine," talks about his journey out of Zionism, and, how he came to write the song. Rich performs in the New York City area. To find out where Rich is playing, check out his website.
Mohammad Abdul Qavi was an activist for peace and justice for Palestinians. We met Qavi at the El Beit Guest House in Beit Sahour, the city next to Bethlehem, Palestine, where a group of us on the month long, Iktashef experience, sponsored by the Holy Land Trust, were staying. Qavi, who was from London, had chosen the El Beit Guest House as his retirement home and had been living there for over 6 years. This interview with this remarkable and compassionate man, who practiced only non-violent resistance, was conducted on August 14, 2017, less than two weeks before his passing on August 27, 2017. Qavi, a true friend to Palestinians will be sorely missed (26 minutes)
Why is it that the teachings of Jesus, like "Love your neighbor as you love yourself" and "Blessed Are the Peacemakers," take a back seat to millions of Christians that are influenced by the religious dogma known as Christian Zionism? In this short video, We Hold These Truths returns to Calvary Community Church (CCC) in Phoenix, AZ. One of our first vigils was held in front of this church in November of 2002, four months before the second war on Iraq started. Back in 2002, our signs like "Choose Life Not War," "Who Would Jesus Bomb?" "Blessed Are The Peacemakers," and "No More Wars For Israel" must have befuddled the congregants at CCC, because they came out and raised the Israeli flag. The occasion for this most recent vigil at CCC was the hosting of a "God's Heart For Israel" event sponsored by the organization Together For Israel. To demonstrate the war willingness of Christian Zionists to accept wars to protect Israel, the "War Prayer" by Christian Zionist preacher, John Hagee concludes this 4 minute video. To better understand the theology of Christian Zionism, watch our award winning documentary: "Christian Zionism: The Tragedy & The Turning, Part I."
The US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, explained at the 2017 AIPAC convention how she led the charge to cover Israel's apartheid tracks as documented by the UN's report, "Israeli Practices Toward the Palestinian People and the Question of Apartheid," This report clearly exposed Israel as an apartheid state. And, most of the world already knows this. Armed with no arguments against the carefully researched and documented report, Haley resorted to attacking one of the report's authors, Richard Falk, a respected international law and international relations scholar who taught at Princeton University for 40 years. Richard Falk also happens to be Jewish. An ad hominem attack like this on a Zionist Jew would have been met with cries of antisemitism and calls for a resignation. This poweful, 4 minute video of UN Ambassador Haley's appearance at the AIPAC convention on March 27, 2017 was put together by our friends and allies at If Americans Knew. For details and analysis of the UN report, listen to WHTT's podcasts, "The Israeli Emperor Has No Clothes, Part I - The Unveiling" & Part II - Exposing the Facts."
Israel. enabled by its financial backer and pit bull protector, the United States government, will continue its path to national suicide unless it receives outside pressure to end its brutal, military occupation of Palestine. Fortunately, more Jewish people are waking up to the perils Israel is facing. In the groundbreaking documentary, "Jews Step Forward," numerous American Jews relate their stories of their journey out of zionism into questioning and challenging the actions of Israel. This is the 3 1/2 minute trailer.
In his recent address to the ultra-Zionist and war-mongering Stand With Us, Alan Dershowitz said; “people say Jews are too powerful, too strong, too rich, we control the media, we’ve too much this, too much that and we often apologetically deny our strength and our power. Don’t do that!” Internationally acclaimed, Israeli musician, Gilad Atzmon, reported this in an article he wrote, "Alan Dershowitz - The Keys to Athens." that should be read before watching the one minute clip of the pronoucement by Alan Dershowitz.
In this video presentation, our Palestinian friend, Rev. Alex Awad, tells the remarkable and inspiring story of his mother, Huda Awad, who was left as a widow with seven children in 1948, during the Zionist takeover of Palestine. Alex gives a unique look at the Israeli/Palestine conflict as a Palestinian Christian. This presentation is based on his fascinating book, "Palestinian Memories: The Story of a Palestinian Mother and Her People." Alex's older brother, Bishara, founded the evangelical Christian college, Bethlehem Bible College in 1979. Alex served as the pastor at the East Jerusalem Baptist Chruch and Dean of Student Affairs at Bethlehem Bible College. Sadly, most American Christians are unaware of the plight of Palestinians Christians. In addition to watching Alex's presentation, we recommend this article by Alex Awad that will challenge those Christians who believe that God gave the land of Israel in 1948 to Jews only: "Palestinian Christians in the Shawdow of Christian Zionists." This excellent and balanced news report from Australia exposes the war based religion that is known as Christian Zionism. Even though this program was originally aired in 2007, it is still accurate and applicable now. The reporter from the Australian Broadcasting Company interviews Christian Zionist. mega church, Pastor John Hagee who founded the pro-Israel lobby, Christians United For Israel (CUFI), the Christian Zionist version of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee). A Jewish rabbi in Hagee's home town of San Antonio, TX, that is interviewed expresses that Hagee's agenda is detrimental to Jews in America and to Israel. Also interviewed is the Palestinian Ambassor. who is a Christian, and who says that Hagee's brand of Christianity is an embarassment to Palestinian Christians. (17 mins.)
Mariam Fathalla, an 86 year old, stateless, Palestinian refugee living in Lebanon, has come to the US and Canada to tell her story about the Nakba (the Arabic word for "Catastrophe) that she, and her family, lived through in 1948. Mariam and over 750,000 other Palestinians were forcibly expelled from Palestine, and, around 500 of their villages were destroyed by the Zionists, in their drive to set up the modern state of Israel. For more background on the North America Nakba Tour with Mariam and Amena Ashkar, click here & here.
Here's some shared values by America and Israel that will not be mentioned by US politicians stumping for office. Expressing "shared values" enumerated in this 2 1/2 min. video from Apartheid Adventures would be an almost certain kiss of death for any aspiring candidate for a US federal office (congressman, senator or president). Don't miss our version, "Sharing Values - The American and Israeli Way."
About 80% of evangelicals believe that the nation of Israel is still God’s chosen land. One view, known as “Christian Zionism” is the belief that the nation of Israel is still central to God’s plan – that the Jews are still God’s chosen people, that the land that was given to the nation of Israel by God is still their land by divine right, and, that anyone who tries to take it away from the Jews will incur the wrath of God. But there are important things at stake here in the “twisted scriptures” used to justify the Christian Zionist position. Many Christians are obstructing peace in the Middle East. Misinterpreting what the Bible says about the nation of Israel can have huge ramifications for how we think about God, the Gospel message, Jesus, and so on, says Pastor Greg Boyd of Woodland Hills Church in his powerful and unique message. This two minute video, produced by Corn For Food Not Fuel, explains how our nation's policy of burning corn in our gas tanks is causing an increase in the price of meat and poultry at the grocery store. And, the use of corn ethanol for fuel doesn't make sense for environmental reasons, either. For more detailed analysis on the ethanol issue check out these resources: 1. Articles by Chuck Carlson: Ethanol and Starvation; 2. Podcasts by Chuck Carlson: Ethanol; 3. "It's Final - Corn Ethanol Is of No Use," James Conca, Forbes, 4/20/2014
It turns out that Chuck Carlson learned some "Top Secret" information from a missionary to Russia at a recent high school reunion he attended in South Dakota. And, as a public service, we are passing it along to you. This piece is one of those curious nuggets of conversation that occurs before we start a podcast program. We think many Christian Zionists will want to go to the bank with this story and pass it on to the rest of the flock who are getting ready (for sure, this time) for the end times.
Lorrie Rutledge, from Michigan, was a Christian Zionist but she didn't know she was one because her pastors had told her that the modern state of Israel was the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy and deserved support by Christians, and, she never questioned them. One day, a friend of Lorrie asked her to watch a video that showed pictures of murdered Palestinian children. Lorrie went to work to find out if what she saw was really true. This podcast is about Lorrie's journey out of Christian Zionism. Don't miss it. It's very inspiring. And, if your not sure about the Israeli treatment against Palestinian children, you need to watch the recent Australian Broadcasting Company's documentary about the brutal and ongoing attacks against Palestinian Children.
